Is This Half Life Alyx Clone the Next BIG VR Game?
1,095This new VR game is so impressive that many people are calling it the next Half Life Alyx but does Of Lies and Rain really have the potential to claim that title? Of Lies and Rain is a brand new VR sci-fi adventure that's been heavily inspired by one of the best VR games of all time (if not THE best VR game of all time) and the influences can be seen EVERYWHERE; from the environments to the UI, the interactivity to the upgrade system. This truly feels like an indie version of Half Life Alyx... but INDIE is the key word in that sentence. Of Lies and Rain is VERY impressive so far, and anyone looking for a high quality, polished VR adventure should run to check this demo out on their platform of choice. However to keep expectations in check we all need to remember that this is being developed by a much smaller studio with far more limitations than Valve, it does feel like Half Life Alyx in many ways and that is fantastic, but those going in expecting an experience on par with the Valve masterpiece might walk away a little disappointed.
