The Infamous Ship Phase....I mean it when I say infamous....while many are on board (ha, get it?), there are just as many that I've seen worried that the ship phase is the most glorified form of homework they've ever had. And to that I say....have you not played any euros? They're all just complicated math problems right? But all kidding aside, the ship book intimidated me. Seriously. When I first saw it it was overwhelming....but it's genuinely a game unto itself, it's a process of upgrading, building, developing, handling situations and more...in my 3 plays it has ranged between 40-55 minutes, still getting a feel for rules which adds 10-15 minutes, but I would say around 10-15% is maintenance, and the rest are doing to be actual decisions you have to, and want to, make.
