This time I travelled from Totsuka Station to Odawara Station via Tokaido Shonan Shinjuku Line, I bought a Green Car/First Class ticket on my phone with Suica, which cost only 580 yen! The day I filmed this was the middle of July 2022, and all passengers were highly recommended to wear face masks not only in the car, but also inside stations including platforms.
How to purchase JR Green Car ticket?
You could purchase the ticket from ticketing machines placed outside stations before you enter the gate. You could also buy from kiosk terminals usually found on each platform. If you happen to have JR Suica app on your smartphone, you could also buy it on the fly! The ticket price depends on your destination, plus there is a price difference between weekdays and weekends.
