Jet Grind Radio Is Not Fun - 2021 Jet Grind Radio Dreamcast Review
6My quick 3 minute review of Jet Grind Radio (Jet Set Radio for all you cross the pond types) for the Sega Dreamcast. Recorded while playing a very frustrating level, so I'm being a bit hyperbolic. Overall I still stand by what I said and if you disagree.. Fight me (in the comments down below).
Also, I was a bit off with the "early in the dreamcast's life" comment - the game didn't come out until 2000. You don't come here for facts do you?

Jet Grind Radio for Dreamcast 1 minute Review
jet grind radio is a game released early in the sega dreamcast cycle made by Sega - (I dont know the developer, I don't think it matters)
visually it's great, audibly it's great story-wise even I'd say it's great
The character design is also great
The idea, or the gameplay idea is great - phenomenal, 10 out of 10
All of those points are a 10 out of 10 except for maybe the story I wouldn't say is a perfect 10/10
Unparalleled in those areas id be willing to say for the Sega dreamcast
However it is a straight up 2 out of 10 in controls, and that 2/10 in controls brings what would be 10/10 gameplay because of the 10/10 gameplay idea, to 5/10 gameplay or less
The gameplay is so aggravating that it honestly gets to a point where any fun that you've had looking at the game, listening to the game, or doing any of the games easier taks, you've forgotten about it - because you're so blinded by rage, or distracted by the pain you're feeling in your hands from gripping the controller in frustration.
If the way you like to play games is to just put them in your dreamcast and listen to them, or put them in and watch the title screen and game demo go by, then this is a 10/10. Otherwise avoid
I would not say this is a dreamcast must play, or a top 5 - none of that. If you are checking out the dreamcast for the first time, I would avoid it for a while. Atleast until you've played other fun games on the dreamcast - because this one ain't fun. Fun to look at though.
