Some Racing game tracks have these paths that are not very useful, making it pointless to go there. Ice Crusher is of those tracks that has an alternative path you should avoid taking. This path is slow and harder and the enemies will start passing you if you take it. What's even worst is in order to win in first place by taking this path, you'll need the enemies at the beginning to push you, which will give you a speed boost. Being close to the front line bikers is a must because catching up is impossible without a good lead in the first lap. While this path is not very useful, the track will not look good without it so the only purpose it has is making the track look nice or greatly self oppose yourself.
