Customers of Jio, a leading telecom service provider in India, were facing service disruption on the network at around 05:00 PM. The problems have now been fixed as the reports on Downdetector, an outage monitoring website, have subsided considerably.
Among the affected users, 57 per cent are reporting signal issues, 23 per cent complained about a total blackout, and 20 per cent faced issues while accessing the internet.
Based on the heat map shared on the monitoring platform, users submitted problems from adjoining regions of Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur and more. The outage peaked at around 05:40 PM with close to 3,300 reports. As of 06:10, the numbers have dropped to around 1,100.
Users have been adding their takes on Elon Musk's X, formerly called Twitter. One user posted: "Jio is down since 1 hour in my area.
Tried aeroplane mode on off, Changing 5G to 4G, inserting sim again but no service." One more user posted: "The entire Jio network is down, no calls no msg nothing.
Right at the start of the festive season."
