It didn't take me very long in the Closed Beta to pre-order Overwatch. The overlap of excellent level design and diverse character abilities makes for matches forcing you to think to beat the other team.

I don't know if that comes through when just watching a stream. I'm going to try to be a bit more vocal about my thought process while playing, in hopes of sharing what I've learned with those who are new and getting input on what I'm getting wrong.

I remember ending one match with "That Widowmaker completely shut me down as Pharah" and got poked back with "In other words 'I can't change class.'".

It burned a bit, because it was *true*. From then on I forced myself to be more fluid with class selection, and the game opened up wide.

And I still feel like I've only scratched the surface of this game...

For those that don't know me -- I don't play competitively, but I've been a FPS gamer since Shareware Doom. I do ok. I also podcast out of moteofdust.com
