Jotun: Valhalla Edition - Kaunan battle (No damage + Time trial)
8At the end of the video i took one hit from the lava but i had the achievement because i took the hit AFTER i killed the boss so don't worry,all is good.(The pause at the end is justly because i quickly checked if the "Perfect" cheevo popped or not)
Tips:
- For this boss you'll need to learn a lot about Kaunan's attacks.I will list them because it can be difficult to know how to proceed sometimes.
1/ Magma Strike: simply dodge the fissures of flames and keep your distances,you don't want to attack the boss during this attack
2/ The God Slayer: for this one,check the shadow of the sword and dodge just before the sword touch the ground,timing is crucial.You can hit the boss after (hands or legs)
3/ Meteor Shower: simply dodge the shadow of Kaunan when he's in the air then hit him a lot after he's on the ground.Be careful,during the second part of the boss,he will jump 3 times in a row.You can hit him if you're quick for the 2 firsts jumps (one heavy attack Thor + Freya or 2-3 quick attacks with cn_X) and hit him a lot after the 3rd jump.
- Be careful,cause during the second part of the battle,he'll be enraged.So he'll move and attack faster and create more fissures and after each jump too !
- Don't do like me at the end of the video.Stay at the center of the arena to dodge more easily the lava.Plus there less lava on the center.
Strategy:
- Use both Loki's powers at start when Kaunan is moving (check my video for perfect timing)
- Use only Thor and hit him 2 times (if you hurt the boss more than that,the pattern will change and you can't put him on the ground just after,so don't hit him too much.This strategy worked perfectly for me each time and it's the max of damage he could take before changing the pattern)
- Quickly use Freya and run to the boss
- Hit the boss until he fall to the ground
- Use 2 light attacks and one heavy attack (or only the heavy,he can flee after the 2 light attacks,depend of his life gauge)
- Use both Odin's spears like me,if you want,or keep them to finish the boss
- Use Thor when you're close and try to hurt him with the explosion of the activation of this power for more extra damages.Freya if you want.
- Okay now it's the second part so be really careful to the lava and to all the attacks of the boss,cause he can now create some fissures after each jumps.
- Try to use your last combo Freya + Thor and hurt him a lot and dodge Kaunan attacks in the same time.Try to be aggressive with your last combo.
- Normally he should be dead at this point.If not,use your Odin's spears.If there're already used,use your Heimdall shields and finish him !
