An unexpected twist in our journey unfolded today, just as the sun painted the sky with hues of dawn. The silhouette of a lone man at Ft Laramie materialized into a familiar face – it was Storm, looking weary and gaunt. A sense of relief washed over us, smothering the lingering traces of betrayal. Hunger and solitude have a way of humbling even the strongest among us, turns out, he just needed a snickers.

Unfortunately, fate has a cruel sense of humor. Our jovial friend Sky was struck by a double curse. A misfire shot during from the rifle in the wagon, followed by the venomous bite of a concealed snake. A harsh reminder, as if we needed one, of the danger on the trail. But, Sky is made of tougher stuff than most, his spirit refusing to bow down to injury. He recovered, his wince slowly morphing back into his customary grin.

As I sit by the dying fire, the stars above mirror the ups and downs we faced today. Life on the Oregon Trail is a dance between joy and sorrow. I wonder if Tea will return, or if they have been eaten by coyotes...

I look forward to the next dawn in our destiny
