At the time having 10 user reviews on Steam and almost no footage on Youtube, this one definitely is obscure.
The first thing that hit me was the music. The chiptunes made by Thomas Bernatchez set just the right mood for the situation at hand, plus most of them are great on their own as well.
Level design is also good and the metroidvania elements are implemented well and the boss battles have nice mechanics to them.
The game is also more challenging than the cute looks lead you to believe.
There are a couple of flaws of course, the controls need a bit of getting used to and taking damage can eat up your jump inputs.
The ice physics in this game, while work as intended, are just about the most annoying of their kind.
So, even with the flaws can this be called a hidden gem? Yes, I definitely have enjoyed it up to this point, so give it a try.
Note! Some of the audio was corrupted on my captures, so for a part of the run you will only hear music and no sound effects. The sound will be back later. Sorry about that.
