The graphical style isn't really my liking compared to the original NES version, but I'm not really dying over that. The things that seem most in line with the original gameplay are sub-pixel jumps and just sort of weirdly stiff gameplay. Marketing for this game used to call it "Super Real Action", which is something I've seen associated with like, Art of Fighting.
An example of what I'm getting at is, for instance, having to be standing still to manage your inventory. They're not using that tagline anymore, but it all feels like remnants of the style of gameplay of the original.
It's pretty fun, though speed running or playing for score could induce madness.
