This is a playthrough of Shizune's Act 2 in the Beta of Katawa Shoujo. Act 1 was skipped due to it being exactly the same aside from the music and some grammar errors. I will show Act 3 and Act 4 at some point in time, but I figured I should at least upload something pertaining to the beta as of now instead of holding off everything.

Shizune's Act 2 showcases actual bonding between Shizune and Hisao. Here you will start to see (from Hisao's limited point of view) what led to Misha's depression, and you will start to get some information on how Shizune perceives things in life. You will get some information on how Shizune acts how she does. Granted, you'll have to look deeper than the words on the screen, but whatever depth you imagine to be there is most likely true. For now, though, we will mainly see how the Student Council's duties led to the beginning of the best route in the game. There will also be some interesting choices, and some weird ones.

I decided to keep the beta music in as well instead of having the final version's music. The beta music just seems to fit the story of this route better.


Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Hisao Nakai, a normal boy living a normal life, has his life turned upside down when a congenital heart defect forces him to move to a new school after a long hospitalization. Despite his difficulties, Hisao is able to find friends—and perhaps love, if he plays his cards right. There are five main paths corresponding to the 5 main female characters, each path following the storyline pertaining to that character. This is the beta.
