So I wanted to do a special introductory for the next episode of Kojima's Deception as it has been my most popular series, as well as my favorite series to make. It has given me an outlet to create something that has far exceeded the scope I had for this channel, and it has given me new hope for humanity as I watch us all come together, uniting over The Boss, aka Hideo Kojima's goal of uniting the world. So thank you Kojima-san, and thank you all for coming back time and time again.
I know I'm the JonTron of theory videos, but I gotta make ends meet somehow, and this hasn't made me much more than pennies. :P I'm perfectly fine with that because what I haven't gained financially, I've gained in great memories, fun times, and friendships that I have a strong feeling will last. The Ruse may or may not exist, but at this point, I don't care. It exists in our hearts, and that's all that matters.
Originally, I chose the song Anything you Need by Low Roar for this video after my failed attempt to use Kashmir by Led Zeppelin, getting the video blocked. After I thought about it however, I wanted something that stood out from what Python and Selkan usually choose from Low Roar for their videos, but also something that was symbolic. A fellow Ruser, Cipher, notes that it sounds like a computer system crashing, and with the theory I'm about to present, that's heavily important, so bear that in mind. ;)
The theme of this intro was loose connections. The reason I ended up with that as the theme was because I wanted to get smooth transitions between scenes that felt natural and could tell a story... The result was to create a dream-like series of strangeness. I'll point you to Movies with Mikey's deep dive on Inception if you haven't seen it. There, you can see why I felt compelled to go for this, but I've recently gained a lot more respect for Christopher Nolan's hit film (a film I enjoyed but now quite fondly love) because of that video giving me that insight that a vague or ambiguous ending can have much deeper ramifications.

With MGSV having opened my eyes to the layers and layers of the Metal Gear series, a series I've played half of my life with, it's also opened my eyes to deeper comprehension and interpretations of art and literature. With that said, the theme of loose connections ties in with Inception via how it explains dreams and how we experience them;
"Dreams... they feel real while we're in them right? It's only when we wake up that we realize that something's strange... Let me ask you a question, you never really remember the beginning of a dream do you? You always end up right in the middle of everything that's going on."
With the theories that MGSV, and potentially not only the whole MGS series, but the whole Silent HIll series being VR tied to Death Stranding, I wanted to not only have a video that visually represented that, but also a video that visually represented what it's like theorizing between these two games, while also semi-representing the theory of separate layers to Death Stranding's Virtual Space.
"So go!! Let the legend come back to life!"
