This is video #057 in my Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days playthrough. Roxas undertakes the Challenges for Mission 31. For Challenge 31sp, it sounds pretty rough, but it is not really all that difficult. This challenge is about avoiding damage. In fact, any damage you take is likely to kill you instantly. To get all three Challenge Sigils, you cannot take any hits. Roxas's level is capped at 5, and enemy level is increased by a whopping 50. The key to this mission is to boost magic as much as possible. The Magic Ring and the Chrono Gear can help with this. Because of the level cap, you can take out extraneous Level Up panels and put in Blizzard and Fire panels instead. If you have the Blizzara spell from later in the game, use that instead.

To execute this challenge, make a beeline to the Ballroom. You don't have to fight anything other than the Bully Dog, so don't bother. If you are lucky, the Blizzard spell will freeze the dog. I suggest keeping your distance and firing magic after the dog's attacks. Xion will probably fall several times, but she will revive automatically. As long as you keep Roxas moving, you should be fine.

At time index 6:26, Roxas does the regular challenge for Mission 31. For this one, Roxas's level is capped at 5, and he cannot use recovery items. Fortunately, the enemy level is not modified. To get all 3 Challenge Sigils, he has to clear the mission within 45 seconds. The only saving grace here is that you don't have to run back to the dark portal after killing the mutt. It is also pretty easy to sneak past Cogsworth. However, it is still a pretty tight time. The most irritating thing is that the clock still runs for a second or two after the dog is defeated, and there is nothing that can be done about it.

At time index 14:00, it's time to do the Mission 31 in Mission Mode. I'll be using Zexion for this mission. (Although technically, I guess he's supposed to be "dead" now.) Basically, similar tactics to before: try to freeze the Bully Dog with the Blizzard spell. If you have Blizzara, this should be much simpler. For completing this mission in Mission Mode, you get 4 Mission Crowns.

For earning 70 Mission Crowns, the Moogle Shop will reward you with 10--count 'em, 10--Elixirs! That alone is worth doing these missions in Mission Mode.

Finally, at 19:43, Roxas redoes Mission 31 normally, just to collect the 3 Ethers that were left behind in the Ballroom.
