Killer Instinct - SNES - Jago Full Playthrough
A full playthrough of Killer Instinct on the SNES, using the Tibetan monk character Jago.
This is a fighting game from Rare, originally released for arcades in 1994, the SNES port hit shelves in 1995. I don’t play fighting games much, but I’ve been going through Rare’s back catalogue and felt obliged to at least try this out. The arcade version is difficult to get running on MAME, at least to a satisfactory standard, and it was withdrawn from sale on Xbox, so I plumped for the SNES port instead.
I did look at the move set for Jago but I had a hard time remembering it, and found some difficult to pull off, so I just had to wing it with standard attacks most of the time. This game can be very frustrating if you don’t know the special moves as you’re constantly being stun locked by combos. It’s really meant for players who don’t mind spending time practising and learning the characters, but for what it's worth, here’s what a victory looks like with a new player using mostly standard attacks.
I left the difficulty on default, which is still quite tough, only two notches from the top.
I didn't intend for the Combo fight to play out like it did, but it just sort of happened so I went with it.
