A little context, some people still struggle to hit the head hitbox consistently due to the jankiness of kf1.

When a “freshly” spawned scrake is first stunned with a weapon, their head hitbox remains as if the scrake’s head were still “up” but players tend to get confused due to the scrake’s head animation to be shown as “down” which the hitbox itself doesn’t follow until about a second later making the player deal body damage instead of head damage if the player tries to immediately follow the scrake’s animation after the first stun.

This applies to how most scrakes are stunned whether it’s as a berserker with a fire axe or a sharpshooter with a lever action rifle.

If you are up against a scrake that’s already been stunned before then the scrake hitbox will follow the animation but if it’s a “fresh” scrake that hasn’t been stunned yet then the hitbox will have the delay before it follows the scrake’s “down” animation.

FYI, this confusion applies more to players playing on a “dedicated” server.
