Killzone 1 Review for PS2 (Including Multiplayer)
219Killzone on PS2 was the first of six games in the series. It’s a first-person shooter involving an interplanetary war between the ISA and the Helghast. There is a campaign mode, as well as an online multiplayer mode that was recently resurrected by PSORG. There is an offline bot mode as well. The entire game was remastered and released as the Killzone Trilogy. I show and talk about both releases in the review. The series would continue with Killzone Liberation (PSP), Killzone 2 (PS2), Killzone 3 (PS3), Killzone Mercenary (Vita), and Killzone Shadow Fall (PS4). How to play Killzone 1 online multiplayer:
I only know how to do it using real PS2 hardware. Consult other sources to see if you can do it on emulator. Make sure your PS2 can connect in via ethernet jack. The Slim has it built in. Otherwise you need an broadband adapter. Get a copy of Killzone 1 on the PS2, You cannot play using the HD version that is available via the PlayStation Network and the Killzone Trilogy (those don’t have the online ability built into it). You then need to setup an online PS2 profile. The thing is, you can’t do it with the Killzone disc. You need a game with a built-in network setup utility. Start setting up the network using one of those games, and choose these settings. Find the part of the menu that allows you to set up a network. Then follow this set of instructions. Click on "Edit Network Configurations", Edit Config, Create a new network config and use all defaults by pressing X then Right-Dpad until you get to the DNS server option, Edit DNS, Once you are here, you will need to select "Manual", then press Right D-pad, Enter the DNS IP Address of ` 135.148.144.253 ` into the Primary DNS field, Leave Secondary blank. (0.0.0.0), Complete the rest of the Network Configuration and save it to your memory card.
