Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world role-playing game set in medieval Europe, where people fight for power and life. The plot of the game is as close to reality as possible, there are no fantasy elements. The game takes place in 1403 and beyond, in Bohemia (modern Czech Republic). The action takes place at the end of the Middle Ages, when the Great Western Schism occurred (also known as the Papal Schism), and the events that took place in Bohemia ended in the Hussite Wars.
The game is completely non-linear - players can be both heroes and villains, and there are no restrictions other than the player’s conscience. Character development is also non-linear - in Deliverance you can create a unique hybrid of classes like a knight-bard, it all depends on the preferences of the player.
