The Southern Lights is not an actual mission, but a dialogue "hint" from one Private Cornall in the region known as the Caeled Coast. You find the mysterious light at night (generally after 10 PM in the game's internal clock) and follow them until you reach the end. It should be noted that this is wholly optional, as characters with a maximum level of Detect Hidden will locate the chest without going through this exercise.
