Kingston Wall - For All Mankind
Kingston Wall is probably one of the greatest rock groups no-one has ever heard of. Combining elements from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and even disco music, the band created a unique blend of timeless music.
Releasing three albums in the early 90's, this 3-man group left a permanent mark on the Finnish rock-scene. The band came to an early end after the band's headman Petri Walli committed suicide in 1994.
'For All Mankind' is a song that's considered by many to be the suicide note of Petri Walli. Although it has to be noted that it is highly likely, that Walli - who was going through a spiritual search at the time - was talking in the lyrics more about leaving the past self behind and starting a new life outside of norms set by society than actually leaving the physical world behind. Like many great pieces in the history of rock music, For All Mankind offers possibilities for never ending interpretations and speculations.
