[Back-story c:]

After school, Kyo got a strange envelope in his doorsteps with one simple message:
"Want some fun? Trevi fountain at 6, loser pays for dinner. - Ryu."
"Hm, a brawl?", Kyo mumbled to himself.
"What'cha got there, Kyo?", Saisyu asked as he heard Kyo at the entrance and went to greet him.
"Oh, it's Ryu's letter. We last met ages ago after the whole 'catastrophe' people call SvC chaos. He's a respectable fighter. For a hobo."
As the flashbacks brought up a small sense of happiness inside, Kyo continued: "He's invited me for a little rough-up, whoever loses pays for dinner!"
"That sounds great! Can I co- ow ow ow ow!"
"No, you're not going anywhere!", Shizuka* says as she ear-pulls him back.
"Ow ow ow! Alright, jeez, fine. That hurt!"
"You're getting weaker, old man.", Kyo jokingly says as he watches Saisyu rub the pain away.
"Remember to get something for me, kay?"
"Gotcha, pops." Kyo says as he throws small sparks of fire in amusement.
(*Shizuka Kusanagi a.k.a mom, a.k.a Saisyu's badass wife. Long time fans may know =))

6 p.m. No sight of Ryu, only a man in pink showed up, challenging him arrogantly.
"Uh, who's this geezer? You're a big fan of Ryu or something, dressing like that?"
"Haha, very funny. I'm Dan Hibiki of the Saikyo-karate! *I* was the one who wrote that letter!", Dan points to the letter poking out of Kyo's pocket.
"Um, ok? I'm gonna assume you're his frie- wait wut?"
"I am the BEST martial artist in the world! And what better ways to prove it by defeating YOU, the King of Fighters?"
"Wait wait wait, hold on chump. So YOU wrote this letter pretending to be Ryu?"
"Heh heh heh, that's right! Now, come at me!"
"Heh.. if you say so. Prepare to be responsible for your sick little joke."
Kyo reached for his gloves and loosened up his arms.
"Ready to get burned? I'll even go easy on ya."
