Kotobukiya Interior Union Y01-TELLUS Armored Core Build
This is a build video of my Kotobukiya Y01-TELLUS Armored Core. Here's a little history of how I wound up with this kit. If you've been following my other modeling vids I had a house fire a couple years ago and I lost a buncha figures and models. One of my models was a Crest CR-90U3 Armored Core from Armored Core Last Raven and its intro. Well I find a dude on ebay selling 2 Armored Core models because he doesn't have time to build them. One of them was the Crest AC that I used to have and wanted to build another. The other was this Y01-TELLUS. The TELLUS was partially built though, but I didn't care because I really only wanted the Crest so the TELLUS is a bonus. I actually don't really remember the TELLUS all that well from the game. Anyway that's how I wound up with this kit and let me tell you its a nice kit!
This is a somewhat special Y01-TELLUS that appears in Amored Core 4 and 4 Answer. The only weapon I could not find is the PITONE laser canon. I know I've faced off against an AC with a PITONE though because it sound familiar.
I actually built the TELLUS from schematics on Armored Core 4 Answer to see how it handles. It doesn't come with weapons though so you have to equip it your self and the blue color is more a grey so I changed the color to make it bluer. Anyway its an energy weapon powerhouse and its got the generator to support the EN weapons and fly at the same time! It has large missile pods on it if you need to recharge your energy too! I could not find a PITONE for the right weapon I equipped a LR04-AVIOR the upgraded versoin of the LR02-ALTAIR. I must say it has awesome firepower but it's a heavy middle weight. So much so it's overcapacity. But I was able to defeat all the Arena challenges in it.
Ok enough about that lets talk about the kit. The kit is great, the dude that put it together did a horrible job on the shoulders because there are craters in it, that's my biggest gripe. I tried to fill it with glue and paint and it looks better I suppose. This kit is great and the body itself turns out great. When I got to the weapons that's another story, no coloring at all. They were all dark bluish colored. So if you want it too look like its suppose to you will have to paint it like it looks in the manual. The manual is very nice and has some English too. The parts are very well detailed and there's are a ton of sprue trees! I should say it like putting a very detailed High Grade Gundam that's 1/100ish sized. So like a no grade I suppose. The knee joints are kinda funky but have very nice armor everywhere. With the weapons this AC is massive and takes up a lotta room. The PITONE is huge and causes the hand to droop and it actually split the arm when I was trying to pose it due to the weight. The PITONE is cool but its too big. There's so much stuff on it that its difficult to pose too. There's a ton of panel lining to do and you have to paint the weapons. It took me probably more than 10 hours to finish this on and off. Was it worth it? HELLYEAH! It badass and has a unique color scheme you don't normally see on ACs. I highly recommend it!
