Kuon: FromSoft's PS2 Horror Game - Part 1
39I've actually streamed Kuon before but this is an attempt at a full blind playthrough, for once.
FromSoft - before Souls - made a couple of horror games and this is a really rare one for PS2 that's basically Resident Evil, but in the Heian period and also with Yokai instead of zombies. Also you use spell cards and summon monsters. Also it's Fujiwara Manor and not the Spencer mansio-
Look, I know, but you have limited saves and very limited "ammo" so it's like that survival horror but I really like the camera work. And it also has:
auto-healing, kinda, which I don't realize until later
two scenarios and there's interesting plot reasons for that
REALLY good direction
It's not perfect, but it's actually really good and feels a tiny bit modern for an old "tank-controls style RE-like" (in fact, tank controls are optional and the default scheme is definitely "camera-oriented")
