Like this model even more
I really liked the original Lansky, but I like this diamond model even more. I have not found any steel that this sharpener cannot handle. No, I haven't tried them all, but I have tried a fair number of the super steels, and this sharpener works just fine for me. I just want a fine working edge. I don't require a mirror polish, so if you do, you might want to stick to a more expensive sharpening product or process. This sharpener, is also portable, so you can take it with you, if you are planning on a camping trip, or something like that.
I never was able to master the fine art of manual sharpening. I must have ruined more than two dozen knives, attempting to master that illusive skill. I finally gave up, and stumbled upon this sharpening methodology, and have never looked back.
