This is one of the hardest bosses to fight this way (some say the hardest). This is the only boss battle so far, where I found the brute "go and shoot everything" tactic to be useful. It was good when he launched missiles, since I simply shooted them. The whirling was also good, since I had time to charge mah lazer. Launch Octopus angered me only when he launched homing fish torpedoes. I barely saved my titanium skin because of them.
