Mahalo's Windows expert Sean Hewitt shows you how to use the user account function in Windows 7.

Creating a User Account
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. To get to the User Account settings, click on the Start Menu. Click Control Panel. 2. Select the User Account button. From here you will see the account where you're presently logged in. 3. To create a password for this account, select Create password. You will then have to type in your password twice for verification.4. Directly below the area where you entered your password you can give yourself a hint in case you have trouble remembering your password when logging in at a later time. 

Changing Your Picture
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To change your account picture, click Change your picture. You can either select from one of the given account images, or you may select Browse for more pictures and choose an image from your own own library.

Changing Your Account Name
---------------------------------------------------------------------

From the User Account screen, click Change account name.Type the desired name into the space provided.Click the Change Name button.

Making Changes to Another Account
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Select the Manage another account option from the main screen.
For a Guest account, turn the account on or off by clicking the Guest account button. Turning it on will allow a guest user temporary access with limited rights and file access to your computer.
With Administrator rights, you can change another account's settings to limited by clicking Manage another account followed by the account you want to change. Then click Change account type.
You can select whether a user has Standard or Administrator settings as well. Standard users cannot install items, change security settings or affect any other users on the computer.
To add an additional account, click Create another account, then select the account type you want—Standard or Administrator.
