I've noticed that its easy to get stuck getting hit by certain enemies over and over again, which leads me to believe that the game should be played with an NPC partner by your side. This game is quite like the SaGa series, especially Minstrel Song, in that it has a lot of vignettes about different events in the world, rather than featuring one large overarching story as the sole feature of importance, although there are multiple storylines that are important of course.

I did not use special attacks almost throughout the whole playthrough, I'm embarrassed to say that this was not because I was challenging myself, but rather, because of the fact that I had placed my keys incorrectly on the emulator, leading me to press r2 and l2 when I meant to press r1 and l2, which I did not notice until much later. This is why I did not use special attacks, ridiculous I know.
