Despite my luck with the emulator I am at least making progress getting those heart pieces and finally got the Zora mask. I didn't intend to complete the pirate base quite yet. I just wanted the hook shot which will be shown on PART 7, but mainly proceeded with the Romani Ranch quests.
This is one of my top 2 favorite Zelda games. The last time I've beaten the game 100% was the 3DS version, but I was first introduced to it through the Zelda collector's edition for the GameCube. Yes, I am emulating the game, but I also own a physical copy. I figured it was time to 100 percent the GameCube version and I might do the original Nintendo 64 later. Assume the pauses are me either looking up where to get hearts/Masks or needing a bathroom break.
