Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time - Forest Temple Block of Time Skip Demo
Played on an original N64 cartridge (PAL) I show how to skip the Block of Time (B.O.T) in the Forest Temple which is handy if you're speedrunning and have gone adult early (D.O.T skip) and not got the Song of Time from the 3 Spiritual Stones.
It's surprisingly easy to get out of bounds, it's also easy to get lost and it takes a few attempts to know where you are going to land and how to navigate your way round in the pitch black. Knowing this trick allows the Forest Temple to be completed without the Song of Time. Make sure you have 2 keys first...
Hold Z and smash B to drive the sword into the wall with a very low stab attack - doing just 2-3 of these in quick succession can get you out of bounds. The safer method is to jump-slash (line yourself up with C) through 1 jump at a time with as little time between jump slashes as possible and so less recoil and after 3-4 of these you should be through and out of bounds.
If you go through the space in the wall too fast you'll do a HUGE dive down and fall into the abyss, lose a heart and be put back in the main room where you entered. It's very tricky to get out of bounds and not fall down somewhere, but the closer you are to the wall on the right the better. Once you've fallen down and landed you can get your bearings with C-up and see where you are. You're actually in the room you want to get into but you need to load the room...
To finish the setup and make your way to the door by the B.O.T you need to climb back up if you fall down (a few practices of this will get you knowing where you are), take a very small step back, line yourself up with the door then do a roll forwards as fast as possible so you jump mid-air and land in the room properly. Imagine the layout of the room where you need to go and finding the final path to the door is almost self-explanatory.
Open the door and find yourself stood INSIDE the Block of Time! Open the door again and the room loads properly - Forest Temple without an ocarina or the Song of Time :)
It took me maybe just 20-25 attempts to be able to do this consistently it should help shave time off this temple, it'll help me practice for 100% soon and I hope it helps you too!
