As well as six brand new Harry Potter minifigures, 75955 Hogwarts Express includes the iconic Hogwarts Express train as featured in the Harry Potter movies. The LEGO Hogwarts Express consists of an engine, tender and passenger coach coupled together that is compatible with LEGO railway tracks as demonstrated in the video. Hogwarts Express is about 18 inches long and includes a carriage with 4 seats. The roof and side panel can be removed for convenient access and so the Trolley Witch can sell magical treats from her Honeydukes Express sweets and candy cart.
The 2018 LEGO Hogwarts Express steam train comes in a bold red color with black and gold highlights and some nice printed pieces with Hogwarts Express and Hogwarts Castle wording. Inside the driver's cab of the 75955 train, there's a firebox complete with flames and levers and dials to control the Hogwarts Express. The tender has a roof which opens to reveal storage for the students' luggage and all three parts of the Hogwarts Express are coupled together although it would be easy to extend the train.
What sets this aside from other LEGO Hogwarts Express sets is the LEGO Platform 9¾ which complements the Hogwarts train really well. It's designed to allow rails to run along the platform and under the pedestrian footbridge if you choose to build Platform 9¾ at King's Cross into your LEGO railway layout. On the platform you'll find a wanted poster depicting Sirius Black and a newsstand with copies of The Daily Prophet. There is also a trolley to carry luggage which can be pushed through the magical LEGO wall to get from platforms 9 and 10 through to magical platform 9¾.
