Disney attempts to "fix" Finn by making him a Jedi in training under Rey in the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney Plus. Too bad it's non canon and done for comedic effect. One of the biggest complaints about Disney's Star Wars Sequel Trilogy was that Finn was built up to be a lead in The Force Awakens, only to be relegated to "funny black sidekick" status by The Last Jedi. John Boyega called Disney out over their treatment of Finn earlier in the year. And despite the media attacking "the Fandom Menace" and other Disney Star Wars detractors, many believed that Finn got the shaft in Disney's sequel trilogy, probably to appease the Chinese moviegoing audience.
