Originally composed by Nick Ingman and Terry Devine-King for Blockbuster Movie Trailers 1392. "Pounding, insistent, suspenseful orchestra. No fast percussion or choir."

On March 10, 2010, I received an invitation to participate in the beta testing of LEGO Universe. Now, ten years later, I am paying tribute to that universe by uploading songs from its beta placeholder soundtrack and promotional materials. Most of these songs are sourced from the Audio Network Limited. While I can't upload everything, I will be uploading as much as I was able to find.

During beta testing, this song played at Dragon's Den in Forbidden Valley. Along with "The Search Continues", this is one of the few cases where I absolutely prefer the placeholder beta soundtrack over Brian Tyler's final score. There's nothing really wrong with "Gorilla Combat and the Cave", but hearing the Maelstrom Trench music again felt rather anticlimactic. In contrast, beta testing gave us this unique and dramatic piece, fitting the most powerful enemies in the game at the time.
