Meaux, the historic town just a stone's throw from Paris, is in full swing this weekend of September 23 and 24, 2023. Streets are alive, spirits are high, and the sound of music fills the air. But why? Because Muzik'Elles is making a comeback after an all-too-long hiatus, and this year promises to be even more spectacular than ever.

If you've been around town this summer, you'll have noticed that the election signs have been resurrected, but this time they're not there to announce elections. No, they've become the unexpected backdrop for the Muzik'Elles program, unveiling the return of this festival dedicated to women, which had been so missed by the Meldoise community.

Organizing such an event is a colossal task, but Meaux can count on the dedication of some 50 volunteers determined to make this edition a resounding success. Among them, many volunteers will be tackling the demanding task of manning the festival bar. This crucial undertaking is overseen by the association asso siffl'art, already renowned for its commitment to the organization of Festifl'art, another not-to-be-missed musical event in Meaux.

The bar, located at the heart of the public village, will offer a selection of refreshments to accompany the festivities. All around, a number of local associations will be offering their culinary specialities, creating a veritable gastronomic mosaic to tantalize festival-goers' taste buds. But even before the first notes of music ring out, a series of entertaining activities are planned to keep the public waiting.

The essence of Muzik'Elles remains unchanged for this 11th edition: to offer the stage to female artists, almost exclusively. Men have a place reserved for them, provided they invite female artists to join them. This year, the male guest artist is none other than the talented singer -M-, or Matthieu Chedid to his friends. Saturday night, he gave a memorable performance last night to round off his tour. Over 6,350 spectators turned out for this first evening of concerts, ready to be transported by his spellbinding music.

Also of note was the frenzied performance of the superb Adé, whose stage presence and superb voice were hailed by the audience. Her show came exactly one year after the release of her debut album last year. Our media fan was delighted to see her back in concert, having attended her show at file 7 in Magny Le Hongre.

On Sunday, the group Billet d'humeur, made up of two artists from the Pays de Meaux, Allan and Brice, will take to the stage with a surprise guest. A not-to-be-missed performance for local fans, who are well acquainted with the talent of these musicians.

A distinctive feature of Muzik'Elles is their commitment to women in the music industry. With an impressive 82% female artists on stage, Muzik'Elles far surpasses the national average of just 14%. This bold programming helps to spotlight exceptional female musical talent.

Muzik'Elles used to be famous for its downtown events, known as Les Ru'Elles, which transformed Meaux into one giant concert. This year, although the main event will be held in Tauziet, Les Ru'Elles will make their partial return to the city's hypercentre. On the program: musical strolls with musicians from the Pays de Meaux music schools, a frenzied brass band, and a parade of Meaux dance associations who will set the city streets alight with dance demonstrations, all accompanied by the banda Les Drôles de dames. The organizers promise that Les Ru'Elles will be even more grandiose next year, offering the people of Meaux a unique urban spectacle.

Unfortunately, just three days before the start of the festival, some bad news came to mar the party: singer Suzane had to cancel her participation due to a foot injury. Despite this setback, the organizers reacted nimbly by adjusting the artists' schedules to make up for Suzane's absence. As a result, -M-'s show will be extended by 15 minutes, promising an even more memorable evening.
