Playing TD made me go through some changes in the fundamentals - I learnt them the hard way. This is my very first game with Jacko and I got owned.

The principles that can be transferred to TD:
1) Truck fixing, this doesn't need much explanation
2) Fast clicking and building placement, though the importance of this is much lesser than in RA
3) Tank shifting (obviously)

What does NOT work:
1) The golden super pro rule of low res. This is cos production in TD is a lot slower, so delays in clicks do not result in a heavy difference in units. In fact hi res works better because rockets pack a heavier punch so it's no longer about how fast you can alternate between sidebar and battlefield, but how many simultaneous builds you can execute from the sidebar.
2) Scouting to some extent cos of the tiberium. It would be so much easier if TD had Q but nope.
3) Hardcore tanking. Tanks move slower in TD and as mentioned because of the lack of Q and production speed, they carry a lesser weight (about say 40% maybe).
5) Following from 4), selling the cy and then building a premature factory doesn't apply either. The rockets could easily counter the slight increase in tanks.
6) Leaving the factory unguarded. In this game mine got owned by nades.

Gg though, I'm only getting started. Give me a few more games and I'll start owning ;)
