Let's Compare: Sega Genesis Soundboards (Vectorman)
all tracks captured using HD Retrovision cables with settings at 24-bit 96000 Hz sample rate. exported at aac+2 at 96000hz and 256 kbps. all consoles are completely as one would find them on the shelf at a thrift store. no caps have been replaced, and i wanted to see just how 25-30 year old caps would sound today. out of all of them the nomad needs caps replaced the most, it is very noisy. and i would almost consider getting a triple bypass for the model 2 genesis. for my money, i like the sound of the cdx the most, because it seemed to have the most clarity of all the models. i understand there's a high pass filter that was added to the cdx, and that probably is why. it just gives it a brighter soundscape.
