LET'S COMPLETE MYTH MAKERS: SUPER KART GP IN UNDER 5 HOURS
God damnit, not again! In both the fact this is another long as longplay, in that its another bad racing game where we gotta repeat the same tracks over and over again for 50, 100 and 150cc AND in the fact it's a Myth Makers game by Data Design Interactive and published, once again, by Phoenix Games!
But to be honest, this might be the MOST effort put into this. Not only do we have tracks that look interesting enough on the first go, and not only does every character have their own voices and lines here, as well as different looking karts, but they even have their own special abilities in which you have to unlock them by beating the main villain in a one on one "time trial". And all their abilities are unique to them and do different things!
Not only that, but the weapons you pick up, some characters have the advantage of having the levelling for it go to max instantly instead of having to pick up 3 weapon pickups to get there. And to end it, there is a day and night cycle, as well as reverse thing, that DOES change up the items and hazards in the way, AND every character has different steering and speed stats.
So with all of this, that has to mean this game isn't bad, right? Right?! ...hahaha... no. It still sucks. It's incredibly boring to get through, has horrid lag in some cases and the AI is a mess, where if you put it on the hardest difficulty, you'll find the game outright turns off rubber banding on everyone and the AI can basically cheat, which it very much will even on normal difficulty sometimes, and if you put it on the easiest, not only are you much slower now, but your steering is worse too. Basically, this has very similar issues to what we had with Living World Racing, only with more to it and it looks more interesting to begin with.
Commentary track coming soon.
Overall, the game is just not fun to get through and once again, isn't good. Sure, it's the best of the 3 Myth Makers games, and its probably the best game that Data Design made as they seemed to put some genuine effort in here, especially for what is Rooker's creation, the lead designer of theirs. Too bad the game is still mediocre to bad in many ways and this is how Myth Makers ends. There's no 4th game. Rooker could've had something neat with this property, something enjoyable perhaps, but he screwed up on day 1 as soon as he started working for Phoenix Games and Data Design Interactive. Myth Makers is dead now thanks to these two companies making three bad games that are nothing more than templates for some of the bad, repetitive stuff that DDI would make again and again. And the worst part of it all? Phoenix Games has done worse with others and themselves than with DDI thus far, if these longplays alone show anything. And then the games get worse when they reuse them for the Wii with horrid motion controls to boot. Screw these companies and the junk they crapped.
