Let's Demo #18 - Blaze - Amiga
A Sonic clone, was never completed.
While Nintendo and Sega were "battling" using their mascotte, Commodore began its inevitable decline (due to bad management by Commodore itself); there wasn't even any clear mascotte, something that would lead back to her in a marketing plan.
Games like Turrican and almost perfect conversions like GoldenAxe or Ghost'n'Goblins failed to save what is still remembered today as the queen of computers of that period.
They tried to create characters like Zool or Oscar (the latter only for
AGA chipset) but none of them was a charming character.
In 1994 it seems someone wanted to try their hand at making a near perfect clone of the fastest hog of all time, by giving birth to a playable demo of Blaze.
Technically good, but graphically incomplete (and without sound), this demo could have lead to an intresting game, but unfortunately it was too late and the majors followed the God of Money continuing their race on other platforms. So the developing stopped here.
Too bad, Amiga would have had a lot to say…if, as I always say, Commodore had invested better in marketing. but this is another story.
