OXYGEN NOT INCLUDED, THE VIDEO GAME FOR PC/MAC OS/Linux
Oxygen Not Included is a survival simulation video game featuring pauseable real time building and digging on an asteroid full of alien life and fun surprises.
The game was developed and published by Klei Entertainment in 2019.
OXYGEN NOT INCLUDED: THE BACKGROUND, GAME MECHANICS AND RECEPTION
The player begins a game with three colonists called duplicants. They find themselves inside of an asteroid but lack any memory. There isolated pockets of breathable atmosphere and small ecosystems can be found and used to build a makeshift base to try to survive. The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable space colony, probably to escape the asteroid.
The game simulates the diffusion of gases like Oxygen or Carbon-Dioxide and equalization of atmospheres. This makes proper planning of further exploration necessary and favors scientific thinking.
Oxygen Not Included was received very favourably. As of 2024 Metacritic is 86% (see https://www.metacritic.com/game/oxygen-not-included/). As always on PlayingHardball we will see and judge for ourselves. We know that so called professional journalism cannot be relied on anyway.
THIS OXYGEN NOT INCLUDED LET'S LOOK
In this Lets Look we will see a full Oxygen Not Included playthrough. We will see the full Oxygen Not Included game during a first run and we will explore as much of the game as possible. Thus and as usual we will follow a completionist approach.
As with all my Let's Looks this series also functions as a tutorial and walkthrough. We will see lots of uncut commented gameplay.
In the end of this series of game videos I will add a video with my collected thoughts which will function as a test and review for Oxygen Not Included. Then I will also provide some more tips and tricks for the game.

My callsign is Hardball, PlayingHardball. I have always loved gaming. I am passionate about games as forms of art and ways of exploring narratives in interactive ways. I have been playing video games nearly all my life, on the internet for a few years now. I enjoy a great variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (like Mass Effect, Disco Elysium, The Witcher, etc), strategy/tactical elements (like XCOM, Panzer Corps, Total War etc), and RPGs (like Cyberpunk 2077, newer Fallout titles etc) and especially CRPGs (like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 or Pathfinder etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games too!
