In this video, you will see me play Aethermancer (Steam Next Fest). Aethermancer is a Monster Hunting Adventure RPG with Turn Based Combat. This game plays very similar to Pokemon game series, where you walk around the world in real time searching for various Monsters. Instead of "Taming" or "Capturing" them, you capture their "Memento" or essence like taking their DNA samples and then rebirthing them player. You'll need to find a Rebirth Ruin and must have Monster Souls to rebirth a monster that you've collected (with Memento). You can have up to 3 Monsters at any time on your rooster. Any new monsters that you rebirth can only replace an existing one. All times equipped on that replaced monster will be lost. Each monster will have their own XP bar that is used for training their levels. As the monsters gain levels, you'll be able to pick new skill or trait. The game has a very interest mechanic for abilities. Each monster type has a basic attack that generates Aethers of various Magic Types. There are 5 Magic Types: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Wild (can be substituted for any of the other 4). The special abilities require spending Aethers of the specific types. Your character is a Guardian and can perform actions during combat such as Memento Capture, or using any consumables. The combat is played in turns. During your turn, you may use all the actions of each monster available (including yours). Once you've used all actions, the enemies take their turn. Combat ends when one side is defeated. Explore each map to find the exit and go to the next map.
