This is the first of my Sega Master System let’s plays. Accordingly, it’s the first of my After Burner let’s plays (that is, After Burner on the SMS). Having recently completed After Burner for the Sega 32X (truly a home console port of After Burner II), I thought this would be a great game to start off with.

Unfortunately, it’s nowhere near as enjoyable as that version. I’m not good at distinguishing frame rates, but this game must be running under 30FPS; it often looks like an animated flip book. As a result, the jet I’m piloting isn’t terribly responsive, creating a chunky gameplay experience. Still, this was a better alternative than continually attempting the overloaded Pokémon Go servers. I made it as far as stage 4 before losing all lives.
