Alpha Protocol fits comfortably into Obsidian's legacy of janky-but-charming titles, a spy RPG with some neat ideas and solid character writing atop less than balanced gameplay. We're dropped without much context in the initially shoeless feet of Mike Thorton, hired by the titular agency for a counterterrorism operation in Saudi Arabia.

Before that, however, his recruitment features something of a trial by fire, and some very loose definitions of the term 'stealth maneuver'.
