This stage can be a bit of a headache if you rush into quite a few of the jumps. It also has a nasty way to drop you back to the ax if you get unlucky, in that there's a enemy in prime position to knock you into a death pit before the upgrade spot. Also a lot of slow flying enemies that clog up the airspace.
