At The Tale End isn't a game I know terribly much about, other than that it's pretty short, doesn't involve combat, and that it's set after the ending of Ye Old Generic JRPG.

The World Fragments really don't have any business being post-game content, especially not post-game content that requires you to replay the entire game again. Don't get me wrong — I like the actual World Fragments, and think that they're a cool idea for a collectible... but I think that they could have been accessible in the first playthrough without it feeling weird or inappropriate. It's not like they're director's commentary or anything like that.

The really frustrating part, though, is that the second playthrough of the game is pretty much identical to the first one, other than the presence of the World Fragments. I was hoping for a different post-credit sequence or some acknowledgment from the clearly-meta-aware spirits, but that didn't end up happening.
