Let's Play Baldur's Gate EE (Patreon-Chosen Game) Part 10: Dynaheir & the Gauntlets of Dexterity
2Well, this blows. After recording, I could see that the game just shows a still image of the menu screen after I set it to actually run in fullscreen mode a few minutes in. Unfortunately, it looked totally normal as I kept playing, so I didn't know it wasn't working correctly until after the recording was done. The audio is entirely intact, so between that and my narration you can mostly tell what's going and follow along. Nonetheless, I apologize. This game *really* doesn't play well with Bandicam, I guess.
Anyway, we track down a Potion of Invisibility (at the Friendly Arm from Bentley Mirrorshade) and a Scroll of Blindness (from Thalantyr at High Hedge). We then head to the Gnoll Stronghold, where Safana uses stealth to sneak in and reach Dynaheir, who we accept into the party. I then have Safana stealth out after giving Dynaheir the Potion, the Scroll, and (for now) Evermemory. Dynaheir, in turn, uses the Potion to get back to the rest of the party, and she scribes Blindness.
Blindness is the threshold to being able to do *some* combat, as it makes the enemies kinda-sorta-possible to hit. The basic strategy for now is to make sure we only fight one enemy at a time, get them to engage Skippy in berserk mode, while Khalid attacks with his bow, Jaheira casts Bless and then attacks while healing as needed, Safana uses Relair's Mistake to transform into a wolf and attack, and Dynaheir hangs back after successfully blinding the enemy.
A lot of luck is required to get through fights at this point, but ultimately we manage to take down Gnarl and Hairtooth and secure the Gauntlets of Dexterity, which go to Jaheira. Khalid hits level 2 after the fight, which is also nice.
