So, what is Battletech and/or Mechwarrior? In very, very brief, it's a series of games where you control one to four big stompy robots and shoot weapons at other big stompy robots to make them blow up before they do the same to you. The plots of most of these games start out more or less the same: You are part of an established family, minor noble house, etc., when you are chased off by someone betraying you and yours and you have to start life over in semi-secret until you can get powerful enough to get revenge. This game is pretty much no different. Some of the games are more action-based, where you are in the cockpit of one robot and you have to drive it around like a tank simulator(and those generally get listed under the titles of Mechwarrior), but this one plays more like XCom/Shadowrun Returns/Advance Wars.
Returning to the co-pilot seat is JKLantern, who has been neck deep in the lore of this universe since he was eight, so he's going to be able to provide a lot of context for things that will happen that I can't. He will also be very easy to annoy because the lore gets kind of broken at points with some of the equipment and mechs available.
