Let's play Clockwork Empires at maximum settings! Clockwork Empires is a town builder game that blends Lovecraftian undertones with the steampunk genre into an awesome god game that is reminiscent of Dwarf Fortress.
Part 1 - Where we learn how to build basic structures (carpentry workshop, low-class house, and the kitchen shown here), set up stockpiles (including a graveyard), and how to farm. We successfully make a self-sufficient community in this video, with our first batch of colonizers staving off starvation with their produce.

Questions:
At 27:27:
1. How do I prod colonists into action? Sometimes some just stand idle. I presume I'm not giving enough orders?
At 29:29:
2. It took for a while for those trees to get chopped down. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

3. How do I make my military respond faster to threats? (If this is found in a later part of the tutorial, there's no need to answer this.)

4. What's the "'other' commodities" filter tab for? That seems vague. I got puzzled with that one.

5. I dragged one colonist to the military work crew. Will he automatically pick up a weapon?

6. I just noticed this: one kitchen module stands unfinished. How do I fix that?
Lastly, I tried searching the wiki for "Memory" and "Memories" but nothing comes up. Any existing guide on those? I know those are important as I once played Dwarf Fortress. (Case in point: 45:16.)
