Crossfire: Legion is a real-time strategy game developed by Blackbird Interactive and published by Prime Matter. It was first released on December 8, 2022 for Windows, while previously having spent a few months in Steam Early Access.
The game is a somewhat traditional base-building real-time strategy game. Players take control of one of three armies: Global Risk, a military corporation, Black List, a group of freedom fighters, or New Horizon, who rely on mechs novel cybernetic implants. All three factions struggle for power in a future controlled by data.
Factions in Crossfire: Legion can be customised further. Players have access to two or three types of infantry, ground vehicles, and aircraft, allowing for unit customisation. In the 15-mission campaign, units are pre-determined on a per-mission basis.
Crossfire: Legion received mixed reviews from players due to pathing issues, always online requirements, the limited unit loadout, as well as similarities to StarCraft II. Further criticism included the small map pool, a lack of a dedicated save function, not all keys being remappable, and games being difficult to find due to the small player base.
