Old hero boss of 4-2 is a straightforward fight. Old Hero is blind so the fight can be made much easier by going into it in soul form. Another strategy is to use Demon's Prank, simply cast it behind him and get him to turn around and attack.

If you're determined to go melee, well it's possible and actually faster. Warding is nice to make sure you will live through 1 mistake. Aside from that, just strike after he's turned around and then jog away. Don't sprint that tells him where you are.

If you're careful and slow, this fight is a lot easier. Little more nerve wracking but much easier.
