...This time let's say 'NO' to the Dragonlord's offer and fight him!

This battle has two phases. At first the Dragonlord takes the form of a scrawny sorcerer and casts Hurtmore, occasionally Stopspell. I, for one, have NEVER seen his Stopspell actually work - but if it did, AND it carried through to the second phase of the battle, you'd be royally screwed!

After about 3 or 4 hits the Dragonlord will finally morph into his "true" dragon form. This part is very tough due to his very high attack and defense power - and it's why I ran from so many battles to conserve MP. You'll have to constantly cast Healmore to keep ahead of his claw attack and his incinerating breath. The physical attacks deal anywhere from 25-50 damage, but the breath always is in the 40-50 range. Meanwhile, at level 21 KRS-One is dealing only about 6-12 damage per attack!

The amount of damage you deal per attack increases as your level increases, as does your max MP. This means you need fewer attacks to kill him and can cast Healmore a greater number of times. Higher levels also mean you won't get clobbered as badly on the way down through the dungeon. In fact, it's IMPOSSIBLE to beat the Dragonlord below level 18, and even level 19 is extremely difficult. I recommend that if this is your first time playing the game, wait until level 24 or 25 to take him on.
