🐧 Welcome to our let's play Final Fantasy 8 Part 11 for the PS5: FF8 Remastered (Blind). The Final Fantasy game that I started more than any other Final Fantasy. However, almost all those playthroughs looked like this: I get my cards. I play till the Queen of Annoyance changes the rules. I stop playing after 5 hours of card games. One playthrough of Final Fantasy 8 however did get me to the end of disc 1 where I just, stopped. I've never had any appreciation of this game but I've been told by many that it is one of their favorites. So now, your FlightlessBird decides to give FF8 a second (eighth? I lost count) chance by playing it live with you all. Come join us as we figure out if Final Fantasy 8 is really one of the worst Final Fantasy games, or one of the greatest, or somewhere in-between!

🐧 Thank you Square (oh right, Square-Enix!) for this amazing universe of games.

🐧 About #FinalFantasy 8 (from the fandom): #ff8 is the eighth main installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed and published by Squaresoft. It was released in February 1999 for the PlayStation, and has since been re-released on Microsoft Windows in 2000, with this version being ported to Steam in 2013. A remastered version was released September 3, 2019 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The remaster was rereleased less than two years later on March 25, 2021 for iOS and iPadOS as well as Android.

Final Fantasy 8 is set in a fantasy world with science fiction elements, and focuses on Squall Leonhart, a young SeeD mercenary hired out to various missions by Balamb Garden. Squall and his friends are enlisted to help a group known as the Forest Owls led by Rinoa Heartilly, an endeavor that escalates into a conflict against the forces led by Sorceress Edea.

The gameplay makes a departure from many series standards. While it still uses the Active Time Battle system, it deviates from the series' traditional means of boosting a character's power via leveling (although levels are not completely abandoned as they were in Final Fantasy II). In addition, it does not have a Magic Point-based system for spell-casting. Instead, magic is collected, drawn, and created from items, and is used to power up the characters via the junction system.

🐧 90% on Metacritic with a 8.6 user rating.

- 98%: Spanning four discs, this is a massive RPG. You can try and skate through it in 50 hours but can easily spend over a 100 hours playing if you decide to take on all of the side games, collect all of the Cards and experience all there is to experience from this game.

- Squallleon 10/10: This is by far my fave game of all time a must play. Has a unique story with well developed characters. A deep and compelling plot. And the game play is awesome with a really good lineup of summons, limit breaks, magics and weapons. Monster designs are awesome too. And by far the best romance done in a video game. This game was so epic for me that it still holds a special place for me. Don’t think another game will come close.

🐧 It is my hope to bring to you many other games on this channel, of various genres including Visual Novels, RPGs, JRPGs, Puzzle, Point/Click Adventure games, Choice Based games and so on! Check out our other amazing games in addition to this one and let me know what you would like to see next!
